Remains

Mirrors, these days, reflect strange faces
growing stranger every day
The eyes blink back what remains
And worlds are swallowed whole
word by word

I inhabit a chaos not my own
Invisible and silent
I am not who I am
Nor the silence I profess
Nor the empty words
Whispered to the air

I have scrubbed off the anger and the pain
I have drained him out
from the deepest wells of blood
I have locked them out

What is it that remains.

  1. erasing things can be incredibly hard
I inhabit a chaos not my own
    Invisible and silent
I am not who I am
.... these lines give me knot in my stomach

    1. Thanks, Suyash. And since we are talking about erasing, let me recommend you an incredible movie (and a personal favourite) - 'Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind'.

Those are some my favourite lines as well. :)

  3. I don't know if this is the correct term, but I am a fan of your poetry. It is so engaging and stirring. And too many times I have nothing to comment, as I feel your words are so complete.
