Shifting Weight

When my soul shifts its weight
Chips fall out
And mistaken words with misplaced meanings
Find themselves naked
In front of your roving eyes
Or maybe I misunderstand your understanding
As I stand under the drizzle
Or a tsunami of your questions
"Your burden of proof is ready to be served."

You wrung my words too hard
And now they bleed
Into the empty bedside
And a naughty striptease
Yes, I'd have extra cheese with that, please
A thought-criminal too, needs to eat
To craft words and meanings
And words without meanings
Countless hours worth of nostalgic screening
And as the director, I yell "CUT!'

    1. It's tough to make that cut. It's tougher to laugh away the misunderstandings. We communicate with others and ourselves in strange ways.

I'm glad to know you were able to relate to this. Thank you for stopping by. :)

  7. Ah, the crafting of words always takes time. And it isn't easy to cut them either.

    1. I agree. The author in all of us clings to those words, like a protective parent.

      Thanks for stopping by. :)

  8. This is a primal scream. A thought crime without a willing perpetratorr! Very well expressed for all of us who have ever been there. CUT!
